Secular Coalition for Alabama is excited to host Alabama's first statewide secular event in Montgomery on October 13, 2012. The event will include discussion panels and speakers, including journalist and secular activist Jamila Bey (http://www.secularstudents.org/JamilaBey), who recently spoke at the Reason Rally in Washington, DC.
We are also thrilled to host David Niose, President of the American Humanist Association:
We're also excited to have Blair Scott, Huntsville, Alabama resident, North Alabama Freethought Association member and past President, and Communications Director of American Atheists:
We're honored to be joined by "Brother Richard" Haynes, former mega-church minister and founder of Atheist Nexus!
Entertainment will be provided by Shelley Segal from Australia, who also performed her hit "Saved" at the Reason Rally:
We want to encourage freethinkers and secularists from across the state to network and to learn more about how you can become active in promoting the separation of church and state. Check back for more information as event planning continues.
Advance tickets are only $40 or $50 at the door. A limited number of student tickets are available at a discounted price of $30. Free admission for kids 12 and under, and complimentary day care with activities (for kids ages 5-12) will be provided!
